When a tooth root becomes infected, it's vital to have the tooth treated before it becomes necessary to remove it and cause the patient to suffer through a missing tooth. Most of the time, infected tooth roots can be treated by a dentist with a root canal; however, sometimes a root canal either won't work or it will fail, in which case an apicoectomy will be recommended. An apicoectomy is performed to clean and seal the tooth canal to prevent the tooth from developing additional infections and complications.
If you have been referred to our office for an apicoectomy, we will first evaluate your condition before determining a treatment that best fits your needs. At Utah Surgical Arts, we are extremely focused on patient satisfaction and will never proceed with a treatment plan that you aren't comfortable with. Some of our past apicoectomy patients were so satisfied with how we handled their treatment that they wanted to share their happiness. We hope you enjoy watching their reviews and listening to their positive experiences.
