Meet Our Share A Smile Recipient, Alex Uribe!
Alex Tells Us About His Dental Health:
My dental health is quite poor. Growing up, I didn’t necessarily have the best dental hygiene, and this problem was only compounded as my family could not afford for us to visit our dentist except for a few times to receive checkups or in serious cases such as an abscess. Over the years, my dental health has declined to the point of missing teeth, some gum loss, etc.
Alex Tells Us Why Restoring His Smile Is Important to Him:
Restoring my smile would significantly improve my life. I am currently a student at UVU in addition to working as a teacher’s assistant. I am constantly having to work and communicate with others, and there isn’t a day that goes by without thoughts about what others are thinking about my smile. In fact, I have I had fellow students ask me—and it seems to humiliate me—about my smile in front of a full room of other people. I believe that overall, not only would restoring my smile improve my life but other aspects such as my career, etc.
Alex Tells Us Why He Thinks He Is a Good Candidate for the Share A Smile Program:
I have gone to several dentists to see what solutions they have for my smile, but there is no way that I can afford the cost. In addition, my insurance has very poor coverage for the work that I need.
